MEET DR. NAZIRI

Adult Reconstruction Surgeon

Dr. Qais Naziri was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. There he attended UNLV for his undergraduate education and majored in Biochemistry. Dr. Naziri then went on to medical school at the American University of Antigua and completed a 2 year research fellowship in Adult hip and knee reconstruction at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopaedics at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore.

Dr. Naziri performed his residency training at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY where he graduated as the Orthopaedic Resident of the Year, the State University of New York Resident Researcher of the year, and was appointed to the SUNY Downstate chapter of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society for his dedication to medical education and mentorship.

After residency, Dr. Naziri completed a fellowship in Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Weston, Florida. During his fellowship training he was able to learn cutting edge surgical techniques including minimally invasive approaches to hip and knee arthroplasty including robotic surgery and patient specific instrumentation. As a tertiary referral center for all of South Florida, and South America, the Cleveland Clinic Florida served as the epicenter of revision surgeries for infections, implant failures, and dissatisfied patients worldwide.

Following his fellowship training, he moved back to Brooklyn to assume the role of Assistant Professor and Associate Program Director of the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency program at his home institution of SUNY Downstate. There Dr. Naziri has continued his role in academia by continuing his research pursuits and teaching medical students and surgeons alike. In addition he is active in clinical care being the primary adult reconstructive surgeon in both SUNY Downstate, the only academic medical center in Brooklyn, and Kings County Hospital, the first level one trauma center in the United States.

Dr. Naziri’s mission is to provide a specialized level of care to the population of Brooklyn including robotic surgery, outpatient surgical procedures, and complex revision surgeries. These techniques include a patient centered approach with rapid mobilization and early rehabilitation.
